Sleep Away Your Back Pain
There is no denying – and there is even research to prove it – that having a restful night’s sleep will help your back to feel less sore during the day. A night of restorative sleep can have healing benefits and make you feel refreshed, rejuvenated, and less stressed. If you are someone who struggles to get to sleep, try these simple, but proven tips: Take a warm (but not hot) bath which will help your body reach a temperature that's ideal for rest. Relaxation exercises, such as light yoga stretches (yoga is also great for helping with back pain) helps to relax the muscles. Do not exercise vigorously, as it will have the opposite effect. Avoid using smartphones, tablets or other electronic devices for an hour or so before you go to bed as the light from the screen may have a negative effect on sleep. Read a book - as little as 6 minutes of reading can help you to drift off. Since you spend one-third of your life in bed, your mattress can also go a long way in preventing or alleviating back problems. The best mattress for back pain is the one that offers cradling comfort while maintaining your spine’s neutral alignment- memory foam mattresses can offer both. These factors are the key to getting a night of restful sleep which in turn relieves overall body soreness, including back pain. When buying a new mattress for yourself it's useful to look into its firmness, support, and materials. These factors are crucial determinants in choosing the memory foam mattress best suited to you. Duvalay’s new Easysleep mattresses all consist of supreme quality memory foam to help with relieving back pain. Tried and tested (co-founder, Liz, swears by the latest memory foam innovation), the collection offers both comfort and support to those who suffer with on-going back problems. The premium option, the Easysleep Three, has been upgraded to feature FreshTec, Duvalay's exclusive next generation cooling foam. Not only does the latest innovation help to keep you cool while you sleep, the hybrid design also offers premium support, without forgoing comfort. For those who suffer with back pain, travelling can be troublesome and pain can often be aggravated with uncomfortable beds and mattresses. But, Duvalay’s mission is to ensure you get a great night’s sleep ANYWHERE. Both their memory foam and FreshTec foam have been integrated into the Duvalay Sleeping Bag and mattress toppers, so you can take a luxury night’s sleep on your next staycation.
The Pros and Cons of Memory Foam
We can all agree there is nothing better than a good night's sleep and this is even more true, when you are travelling. Waking up every morning feeling refreshed and invigorated not only enhances your day but increases your health significantly. At Duvalay, we are convinced that you can transform the way you sleep on the move by using our range of memory foam products, but you may wonder if they will improve the quality of your sleep. We put together the following information to help you decide… What Is Memory Foam? Memory Foam was first designed in the 1960s for NASA airplane seats and is made from a substance called Visco elastic.By moulding to the body in response to heat and pressure, it evenly distributes body weight. Once you remove your body weight, Memory Foam returns to its original shape. The better the density of the Memory Foam the quicker it will regain its shape. These properties make Memory Foam incredibly comfortable. What Are the Benefits of Memory Foam? The preferences for sleep surfaces are individual and there is quite a bit of variability between what type of surface you may prefer when you are sleeping whether it's firm, hard, or soft.Memory Foam can improve your sleep as it relieves the many pressure points in our body. When you lie on Memory Foam, the heat from your body softens it in appropriate points and therefore, this helps to support your body along the curves and natural lines of your body. Also, by minimizing extra movement through alleviating pressure on painful joints, could reduce the number of times you awaken during the night. Are there any Disadvantages of Memory Foam? The Duvalay range of Memory Foam products are manufactured with breathable, washable protectors which work with your body temperature to help reduce heat retention, and also eliminate chemical odours. However, some Memory Foam products may retain body heat, which could make them less comfortable in warm weather. When new, Memory Foam can sometimes produce an odd chemical smell called off gassing. To minimize this problem, we recommend airing out any mattress, topper pad or pillow for up to 24 hours before use.
Duvalay Sleeping Systems
THE ORIGINS OF DUVALAY Back in the days, hitting the road and the freedom it provides could be troubled by poor sleep and back-pain, the perfect leisure environment was regularly compromised by a frustratingly uncomfortable bed. In 2003, after decades of discomfort and dissatisfied with the quality and value of existing caravan bedding products, the husband-and-wife team of Liz and Alan Colleran hit upon the idea of an innovative, comfort-enhancing mattress-topper. They created exactly that and the ‘Duvalay’ was born! The Duvalay story rose to fame in 2011 when Liz and Alan along with their much-loved, flagship product, the Duvalay memory foam sleeping bag, entered the Dragons' Den. Their TV appearance led to UK wide brand-awareness as well as a business-boosting investment by 'Dragon' and Pall-Ex empire founder, Hilary Devey. SO WHAT'S A DUVALAY A Duvalay is essentially two sheet-formed 'pockets' stitched together: one pocket houses a quality memory-foam mattress. It is the special memory foam in the product that ensures a lightweight product with the benefit of ‘sleep-filled’ comfort. Each Duvalay has a single mattress, but the duvet pocket is twice as wide as the mattress, meaning there's ample doona width to provide the warm coverage we all covert. Two Duvalays can be laid side by side, making a Double-Duvalay.
